cmWatcher: SAP Roles for CCMS Access

Introduction

Connmove cmWatcher uses the SAP BC-XAL Interface to connect to SAP Systems. This interface builds on SAP RFC interface type.

Therefore for any connection you need an valid user / password combination. Also the user must have the right privliges in SAP.

 Solution

Assign your communication user the following role SAP_BC_BASIS_MONITORING and add at least this Authorization Objects:

  • S_RFC – Authorization check for RFC access
  • S_XMI_LOG – Internal access authorization for XMI log

Please note: These roles are not sufficent for Setting up CCMS or maintaining it. Therefore you Need at least this roles:

SAP_BC_BASIS_MONITORING

This role contains authorizations for displaying data for the central monitoring of an SAP system landscape using the CCMS monitoring infrastructure.
Various SAP tools are used to do this (SMxx, RZxx, and STxx transaction codes).

 SAP_BC_BASIS_ADMIN

This role contains all authorizations for setting up and performing the central monitoring of an SAP system landscape using the CCMS monitoring infrastructure.
Various SAP tools are used to do this  (SMxx, RZxx, and STxx transaction codes).
